Sales Consultant
Job Summary of Sales Consultant:
You will prospect and win new small to medium business customers within a defined territory. This high-velocity sales position involves utilizing various tools to engage prospects remotely and in person. You will also onboard new accounts to further expand Staples’ customer base. The role requires strong sales skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with customers while driving compliance to new accounts and programs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Sales Consultant:
- Exhibit effective appointment-setting skills and meet weekly appointment targets with key decision makers.
- Utilize professional selling skills to identify customer needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Communicate Staples’ value propositions, capabilities, products, and assortments effectively to prospects.
- Overcome objections and close sales, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
- Use prescribed sales tools like Priority List, Tenfold, and SFDC to document activities and prioritize efforts.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including customer support and category specialists, to advance deals to closure.
- Support product selection and standardization processes for prospects within their industry buying processes.
- Implement strategies to create long-term customer relationships and increase customer loyalty.
- Develop and deliver engaging presentations to prospects both virtually and in person.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure successful onboarding of new accounts and program compliance.
- Communicate with prospects daily in a professional and courteous manner, both in person and face to face.
Qualifications and Experience of Sales Consultant:
- 1-3 years of successful sales experience or success as a Staples B2B Sales Associate.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook (3+ years experience).
- Proven ability to handle rejection, learn from it, and take proactive steps to meet sales targets.
- Ability to develop tailored sales solutions based on customer needs and Staples’ value proposition.
- Strong business, financial, and technological acumen.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and client management skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to function independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organization, time management, and customer communication skills.
