Job Summary of Receiving Clerk:
As an integral part of the foodservice supply chain within a Sysco warehouse, employees are tasked with picking orders destined for delivery at foodservice establishments nearby. This job involves physical duties and operating machinery such as electric pallet jacks and forklifts in settings where temperatures may fluctuate.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Receiving Clerk:
- Employ electric pallet jacks and forklifts for efficient product transportation.
- Organize and arrange products on pallets to accurately build customer packages.
- Adhere to safety guidelines while working in spaces that have changing temperatures, including refrigerated, ambient, and frozen sections.
- Approach all tasks with a thorough attention to specifics and a priority on achieving precision and correctness.
- - Perform other assigned duties within the warehouse setting.
Qualifications and Experience of Receiving Clerk:
- The individual must be of lawful age, which is a minimum of 18 years.
- Less than twelve months of relevant work history.
- Repetitively hoist items ranging from 10 to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Being able to extend up to 6 feet tall and sustain standing for 10-12 hours every day.
- Experienced in performing tasks without issue in extreme temperature environments, such as freezers and coolers.
- Successful applicants will have a minimum of one year of experience operating electric pallet jacks or forklifts.
- Those with a background in physically active roles such as warehouse work or the military are favored.
- Necessary: A work background that is consistent over a span of 2 years.
