This role is crucial in supporting the store’s everyday operations by providing direction, guidance, and leadership to associates to ensure exceptional service and merchandising standards are maintained. It is instrumental in talent development, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency within a fast-paced retail setting.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Retail Shift Leader:
- Support the evolution, coaching, and retention of team members through dedicated leadership and participation.
- Boost customer satisfaction by educating team members on the benefits of store credit and loyalty programs.
- Monitor compliance with merchandising standards and oversee inventory operations for coherence.
- Rely on business reports to evaluate store performance and identify potential areas for enhancement.
- Adhere to corporate software, systems, and established procedures competently to meet operational goals.
- Spur the team towards achieving results through consistent coaching, recognition, and transparent communication.
- Nurture a supportive and harmonious team culture that upholds guest satisfaction and associate involvement.
- Handle any other tasks as instructed.
Qualifications and Experience of Retail Shift Leader:
- A High School Diploma or an equivalent certification is mandatory for this job.
- Preferred candidates will have accumulated 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Excelling in connecting with others and communicating with clarity.
- Skill in balancing independent work and collaborative efforts within a team context.
- Possesses excellent problem-solving and organizational capabilities.
- Acquainted with Zebra PDA devices, POS systems, Microsoft Office programs, and scheduling applications from active use in professional settings.
- Availability to work at unconventional hours, including mid-shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Having suitable vision, speech, hearing, and physical skills is imperative for fulfilling essential job functions, even with reasonable accommodations.
- The job demands the capacity to handle items weighing 20 pounds through lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying activities.
- Being able to bend, stoop, twist, and reach with the body is a fundamental skill requirement.
- The job mandates holding a valid driver’s license and having trustworthy transportation.
