Job Summary:
This position is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting automation systems to enhance manufacturing efficiency and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves troubleshooting, programming, project management, and collaborating across departments to implement effective automation solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Understand, troubleshoot, and program complete robotic systems.
- Install, set up, program, and perform preventative maintenance on robotic systems, vision systems, and automation controllers.
- Read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics.
- Operate equipment and specialized tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Design and develop automation systems and equipment to improve production processes.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to coordinate and implement technical training.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across all production areas including cutting, forming, machining, welding, painting, and assembly.
- Provide input on strategic decisions affecting automation and process improvement.
- Create work instructions, equipment setup procedures, and preventative maintenance processes.
- Manage projects including timelines, budgets, and implementation plans.
- Develop and manage vendor relationships for equipment procurement and support.
- Identify automation opportunities across site processes.
- Benchmark industry best practices for automation improvements.
- Assist maintenance staff with equipment troubleshooting as needed.
- Develop Investment Authorization Requests (IAR) for capital projects related to automation.
- Develop and execute the site automation strategy.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
- Engineer II: 2-4 years of relevant experience.
- Engineer III: 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Preferred: Experience with Rockwell Software applications, ABB Rapid, and Fanuc KAREL programming.
- Preferred: Experience in machine control programming and quality inspection automation.

Salary:
- Estimated annual pay range: $77,000 – $115,000, based on experience, education, and location.
- Eligible for performance-based incentive programs.
